Scholarships

The TCF Scholarship Fund exists to provide talented comedians with access to world-class training right here in DFW!

About the Scholarship Fund

Funds distributed by the TCF Scholarship Fund provide comedians with tuition assistance to receive formal training in the performing arts. Recipients may use scholarship funds towards training through programs that are vetted and approved by TCF. Funds may not be used for any other purposes than tuition. Funds are paid out directly to the training program as tuition on behalf of the applicant.

Selection Criteria

All recipients must complete an application via online form. The form requests the following information from all applicants:

  • Demographic Information: age, gender, race, education level, annual gross income
  • Performance Resumé
  • Curriculum Vitae as it relates to their performance career
  • What type of training they plan to pursue if awarded a scholarship

The selection committee evaluates applicants based on three main criteria:

  • Merit – Has the applicant has demonstrated a good work ethic and talent by pursuing regular performance opportunities appropriate to their level of experience and training?
  • Financial Need – Are tuition fees a significant barrier to entry for the applicant?
  • Diversity – Does the applicant intend to use the scholarship to study a performance modality in which their identity is underrepresented?

Applications are evaluated on a quarterly basis.

Interested parties should take note of TCF’s quarterly evaluation deadlines. Applications will be processed and recipients notified of their award within two weeks of this date.
